Replace your smoke detector batteries annually.

Keep fire extingushers nearby (Remember P.A.S.S.)

• Pull the pin. Release the lock with the nozzle pointing away from you.
• Aim low. Point the extinguisher at the base of the fire.
• Squeeze the lever slowly.
• Sweep the fire extingusher from side to side.
• Call 911.

Plan escape routes.

Keep portable heaters at least 4 ft. away from anything flammable.

Avoid overloading electrical outlets.

Don't run extension cords underneath carpeting or anything that could catch on fire.

Be cautious when using electrical blankets.
